RJ Power Networks has been recently appointed and is now delivering a 6-week phased asset replacement strategy to ensure power supplies are maintained at The Barbican.
RJ Power Networks Project Manager David Fone has taken some progress images at the mid-point of this prestigious replacement contract, with half of the 11kV switchboard being split and busbar coupling on the secondary LV service to allow for the required continuity.
Transformers are being removed and processed to ensure all PCBs are disposed of in accordance with strict environmental guidelines.
The asset replacement contract includes the implementation all safety protocols, with RJ Power Networks taking operational control of the HV and LV Distribution Network during construction.
The scope of this project covers the following items:
- Removal of a 6-panel section of Brush VSI 11kV Switchgear
- Removal and compliant disposal of 2No Brush 2000kVA ONAN Transformers with high PCB contamination greater than the permitted legislation
- Supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning a 6-panel section Schneider Genie Evo Switchboard including a remote switching function
- Supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning a new Substation 110v DC control philosophy
- Supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning 2No TMC 1600/2240kVA ANAF Transformers within new housings

We are fully conversant with The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and the relevant requirements for delivering project works.
